Joining the black board paint craze

I have joined the blackboard paint craze.  It all started with Pinterest, I saw one great idea and then another, and before you know it I'm covering draws and trays and even the paint tin.  Now I'm making more plans.http://pinterest.com/bowersnest/chalk/
Can there be too much blackboard paint?  People will be cursing it next decade as they try and paint over that wondrous thick black paint.

My sister made up the above joke after opening up our glove box, it sounds positive but is referring to our habit of filling every nook and spare space we have with stuff. During her stay we have taken two car loads to the op shop, gotten rid of 2 wheelie bins and 2 recycle bins of stuff. Made some great finds amongst the rubbish including these lovely prints I'd forgotten about, my sister put them in some old frames - I have a whole box of parrots I picked up at a garage sale a couple of years ago.

  1. Wow, sounds like you have had a very productive week! We had a big clean out a couple of months ago and it feels so much better to have a bit more space and feel organised in the house. Here is a great idea for chalkboard placements that I love http://a-friend-to-knit-with.blogspot.com/2010/11/chalkboard-place-mats.html

  2. Kimbamel those placemats are cool - would be great way of organising guests. The whole table would even be fun. I hardly ever get the placemats on the table at dinner - old laminex table doesn't need protecting so easy to forget.

In the spring, at the end of the day, you should smell like dirt.
Margaret Atwood

“She turned to the sunlight
And shook her yellow head,
And whispered to her neighbour:
"Winter is dead.”
