Kyneton Show Part Two

Food stylist I am not, but trust me, these dumplings were so tasty, we had to go back for more. Good food courtesy of a great Chinese restaurant from Castlemaine. No Dagwood Dogs for us. The CWA ladies made the most delicious cakes for afternoon tea and there was good coffee to be had. This is no ordinary show.

No visit to the show is complete without a trip to the Pavillion.  So much talent.
We nearly missed the poultry, I just adore looking at all the breeds, we even took home some beautiful blue free range eggs.

The kids thought this area was very funny, men dressed in suits and ladies in fancy clothes running around with their dogs. We became quite enchanted by a pair of Norwegian Elkhounds, and their very kind owner let the kids give them a walk.

All the kids had a pony ride, I wonder if the Big Bowerbird will be too big next year.

When you thought their could be no more, up puffs a little steam train.

This man was so wonderfully patient with the Middle Bowerbird's slightly wild hammering, he and the Big Bowerbird made nest boxes to take home.

Awesome job Kyneton Show organisers, my favourite Country show ever.
Lot's of picture of the kids for my mum, dad and sister, who all live too far away.xxx

  2. The poultry's always my favourite - the first thing I see whenever we go to the Melbourne Show. Especially the turkeys - you've gotta love the turkeys.

  3. It's been a while since I've been to a country show but every second year we head to the ekka which we all enjoy but I don't think it would have the same feel as the country show you've been too looks like fun. Whenever we go to the show we enjoy having a walk through the animal pavilion.

Lovely pics of the Bowerbird bunch too. Who doesn't like a pony ride.

    1. feels a bit naughty to put the dog owner pics in, but that running around all fancy with your dog is so quirky. I love their enthusiasm. And yes, pony rides are the bomb, I would have hopped on too if they'd let me.

In the spring, at the end of the day, you should smell like dirt.

And shook her yellow head,
And whispered to her neighbour:
"Winter is dead.”
