Prehistoric Walk, The Otway Fly

Touring the Great Ocean Road and the Otways

If you go down to the woods today,
You're sure of a big surprise
If you go down to the woods today,
You'd better go in disguise.

If you go down to the woods today, You'd better not go alone.
It's lovely down in the woods today,  But safer to stay at home.

There was much joy in finding dinosaurs in a Cretaceous like setting of Myrtle Beech (Nothofagus cunninghamii), fungi, moss and ferns.  The lush rainforest brought history to life. The Bowerbirds ran ahead peering around corners and looking up above, searching for the next toothy smile. The dinosaurs are weathered and falling apart, but I think that added to their charm. like a deserted theme park.

  1. I just think the mushrooms are amazing and then I see dinosaurs! Wow! Never heard of this magical place. We are all getting into the amazing world of Australian fungi lately as my daughter is doing macro photography at school.

  2. There are things for the whole family to look at in that park. I love the old trees and all the ferns and moss everywhere. The dinosaurs are fantastical!

In the spring, at the end of the day, you should smell like dirt.
Margaret Atwood

“She turned to the sunlight
And shook her yellow head,
And whispered to her neighbour:
"Winter is dead.”
― A.A. Milne, When We Were Very Young
