The Thin Green Line Picnic Music Fundraiser

We were very fortunate to enjoy a beautiful day of music in our little town on Sunday.  The event was put together by volunteers to raise money for The Thin Green Line, it is a wonderful cause, and we had a great excuse to have a relaxing day with friends and family in a stunning location.  We were entertained by a variety of local musicians, and a story teller, as we sat and picnicked on the lawn.

My eldest helped her good friends look after the kids area - they made magnificent wreaths, crafted, face painted, and sold home made lemonade.  They had a wonderful time and were proud to be adding some donations to the fundraising effort.

Please check out the website at The Thin Green Line, they can explain what they do far better than I, but here is a brief summary.

"The Thin Green Line Foundation Protects Nature’s Protectors on the frontline of conservation across
the globe. With over 1000 rangers killed in action in the last 10 years it has never been more important to support this essential  conservation work. We provide vital equipment, training and resources to rangers in the field, predominantly in high value conservation and conflict zones. Additionally we do not forget the widows and children of our fallen conservation heroes and provide meaningful and effective social support."

If you visit the website I can highly recommend their fundraising CD, its filled with great Australian artists and songs, lots of personal favourites on there.

Just to make the day extra special I walked home with the middle Bowerbird, admiring Autumn leaves and rainbows. A day to feel blessed.

In the spring, at the end of the day, you should smell like dirt.

“She turned to the sunlight
And shook her yellow head,
And whispered to her neighbour:
"Winter is dead.”
