Blue

I've always loved blue.  Blue skies, blue seas, living on a big blue planet. Blue eyes, growing in their wisdom.  My own blue eyes, fading to grey.  A blue fairy, lost in dust and magic, writing letters to the forest folk. A blue teapot luring me stop and sip. A blue chair to watch blue wrens dance and chirp. Blue twine on the hay bale, held taught from wet swollen hay, waiting to be snapped free. Blue hose, spiralling through green, unneeded, and forgotten. Plastic blue clams filled with strawberries, waiting forlornly for summer warmth. Blue toys race around our lounge room and are proffered to confused guinea pigs. Blue jeans, beyond repair. Blue cup cake moulds left out for making ice sun catchers. Pots of blue, a gift of bulbs waiting to show their true identity.

Blue music, so much blue music, and I didn't even touch the Blues.

In the spring, at the end of the day, you should smell like dirt.
Margaret Atwood

“She turned to the sunlight
And shook her yellow head,
And whispered to her neighbour:
"Winter is dead.”
