Cash Mob

First there was flash mob, then there was crowd funding, now there is cash mob. So much to keep up with, but all utterly awesome and great uses of technology in the modern world.

A very modern boost for a bright button:
Shop.

Fay's 99 and runs a haberdashery shop full time! Her neighbouring store owner wanted to ensure her store survives so she organised a cash mob. Call/tweet/text/blog/Facebook your mates and get them to call on their mates, and their mates..... arm yourselves with $5-$20 each and boost a local stores profits. It's one of the best good news stories I've read this year, love the concept and Fay. Follow the link above to find out more.

It makes me want to organise a cash mob in my local area. I just love to see small businesses thriving, they bring life to our little town and the personalities that run them connect us.

A couple more stories in The Age I've enjoyed reading below, The Zone explores great ideas and always says something thoughtful to reflect on.

In the spring, at the end of the day, you should smell like dirt.

And shook her yellow head,
And whispered to her neighbour:
"Winter is dead.”
