  1. Incredibly impressed. Plum blossom, is that not the prettiest ever?? I so wish my grandfather was still with us, he was a professional gardener for a huge estate in northern England & could grow anything & everything. It's a talent, love Posie

  4. Posie, I don't know why people bother with ornamental blossoms when the real things are just as gorgeous. My grandpas were vegie fruit growers too - they knew how to graft and grow - so much I could have learnt. I think all that knowledge missed a generation and now we've lost it.

Lilli, a touch more winter here today so nothing to be envious of - I do appreciate those glorious Spring days - nothing better.

Tammy, little fruit forming - how exciting!! I'm pretty sure the graft won't take - I was a bit slow to get around to it - may try again next year with the proper tools - such a small window for grafting.

In the spring, at the end of the day, you should smell like dirt.
Margaret Atwood

“She turned to the sunlight
And shook her yellow head,
And whispered to her neighbour:
"Winter is dead.”
― A.A. Milne, When We Were Very Young
