Halloween Paper Lanterns

Milk bottle lanterns lit up with tea candles.
This huntsman has taken up residency at our place.  He lives between the window and fly screen and creeps out scaring the little one.
Tissue paper lanterns - they were a bit thick and not so transparent so we gave them pumpkin faces. To see the beginning of  these creations:

More visits from the ravens

And the Raven, never flitting, still is sitting, still is sitting
On the pallid bust of Pallas just above my chamber door;
And his eyes have all the seeming of a demon's that is dreaming,
And the lamplight o'er him streaming throws his shadow on the floor;
And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor
Shall be lifted - nevermore!

Edgar Allan Poe

  1. Spookiness is aglow at the Bowerbird House!

    I'm interested in the milk carton lanterns - do you cut a hatch in the back to slot the tea light into? They look really cool!

In the spring, at the end of the day, you should smell like dirt.
Margaret Atwood

“She turned to the sunlight
And shook her yellow head,
And whispered to her neighbour:
"Winter is dead.”
― A.A. Milne, When We Were Very Young
